Assessments

1. They should be encouraging, not dispassionate.

2. They should require the use of multiple modalities, not just course or internet resources.

3. They should be clear and factual, not obtuse or opinionated.

4. Where procedural skills are required, they should test the ability to solve problems based on measured or provided observations.

5. Where cognitive skills are required, they should test the ability to assemble situations and concepts into acceptable responses.
